Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival and Welcome
Arrive at Mthatha Airport and transfer to Port St Johns. Check into the scenic 4-star N’taba River Lodge, situated between towering cliffs on the banks of the Umzimvubu River. In the early evening, join the expedition briefing and meet your expert crew. Prepare for the incredible days ahead and get acquainted with your fellow adventurers.

Days 2 to 4 – Daily Sardine Run Ocean Safari
After a hearty breakfast, embark each morning on a full-day boat safari from the lodge. Navigate the coastal waters in search of the spectacular Sardine Run phenomenon. Experience close encounters with feeding whales, acrobatic dolphins, and spiraling seabirds as they chase sardines along the shore. Enjoy a delicious Ocean Safari lunch aboard the boat, taking in the breathtaking marine scenery. Return by mid-afternoon to relax at the lodge before dinner, sharing tales of the day’s excitement.

Day 5 – Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer back to Mthatha Airport for your onward flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of the greatest shoal on earth.
