Just three hours from Cape Town, in the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains near Clanwilliam, the Doring River offers a seasonal white-water adventure that delivers both adrenaline and tranquility.

Each two-day trip is a fully self-contained expedition. Paddlers journey through dramatic sandstone canyons in two-person inflatable ‘crocs’, with options for SUPs or guided rafts for less experienced adventurers. Expect thrilling rapids like 'House', 'Krantz', and 'Island' when the winter rains raise the river. You'll carry everything with you, camp on pristine riverbanks, and enjoy delicious meals prepared by your guides — all you need to bring is your personal camping gear and drinks.

Trips start from a private base camp, with your guides on hand from the moment you arrive. After a hearty breakfast and expert packing guidance, you’ll hit the river with safety briefings and paddling tips. By request, longer 3–4 day expeditions can be arranged, and non-paddlers are welcome to stay at Oudrif Lodge (subject to availability), overlooking the iconic House Rapid.
