Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Mossel Bay
Arrive via transfer from George Airport or self-drive, settling near the historic Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse overlooking the Indian Ocean. Meet your guide and fellow adventurers before enjoying a seafood dinner at Mossel Bay Harbour, where waves and harbour lights set the mood for the days ahead.
Day 2 – Cape Saint Blaize Trail to Danabay
Begin your adventure along the famous Cape St. Blaize Trail, following coastal cliffs and ancient Khoisan caves once used by early hunter-gatherers. Watch for dolphins and seabirds as you traverse scenic viewpoints. Overnight at the Amzee Bokmakierie Guesthouse, where a warm Karoo-style dinner awaits.
Day 3 – Danabay to Boggoms Bay
Continue south along the untouched coastline to Boggoms Bay, arriving at Sandpiper Cottages – Fred Orban’s rustic haven with panoramic ocean and fynbos views. Relax with a traditional South African open-fire meal and stories shared under the stars.
Day 4 – Kayaking the Gouritz Estuary
Swap hiking boots for paddles as you embark on a guided kayak adventure on the Gouritz estuary. Discover hidden waterways, try your hand at wild plant foraging and fishing, and spot kingfishers darting across the water. Return for a wild-foraged meal inspired by your day’s discoveries.
Day 5 – Hike to Kanon via Fransmanshoek Peninsula
Trace pristine beaches and rocky headlands towards Fransmanshoek Peninsula, a hotspot for snorkelling in sheltered bays. Learn about ancient fish traps once used by coastal communities at Kanon before celebrating your final night with a traditional South African braai overlooking the ocean.
