A cable is fixed across a gorge and, usually where the gorge has the most width and depth, a swing is attached.
Standing at the top of the canyon, you are strapped into a full-body harness before being securely attached to the swing, or jumping ropes. You may be given the option to fall backwards, to leap forwards into the wide-open air, or to be released by the guide, if jumping is too daunting. After a short period of freefall, you swing pendulum-style across the gorge. When you have caught your breath, take a moment to enjoy the scenery.
Wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing and closed shoes (you may have to walk out of the gorge or to the site) and remember to empty your pockets.
