Shark Diving Adventures in Gansbaai
Step into the heart of South Africa’s marine wilderness with White Shark Projects, one of the world’s leading shark conservation and eco-tourism organisations. Based in Gansbaai, the shark-diving capital of the world, our mission goes far beyond thrill-seeking. We blend conservation, education, research, and responsible tourism to offer guests a life-changing adventure while safeguarding our oceans.
Our custom-built 36-foot vessel, Shark Team, is designed exclusively for shark-cage diving and viewing. With space for just 20 passengers and five expert crew members, every trip feels personal and immersive. Slip beneath the surface or watch from the deck as magnificent shark species – including bronze whalers, great whites, and sevengill cow sharks – glide past in their natural environment.
The adventure doesn’t stop with sharks. During whale season, southern right whale mothers and calves often breach close to the boat, while playful Cape fur seals and the critically endangered African penguin add to the spectacle. Keep an eye out for short-tailed stingrays, the largest of their kind, as they drift gracefully below.
Safety and professionalism are at the core of every experience. Our crew are highly qualified and trained under SAMSA’s internationally recognised procedures. With a robust Lloyds of London insurance cover, you can focus on the thrill of the moment knowing you are in capable hands.
White Shark Projects also provides convenient transfers from Cape Town and surrounds, whether by road or private helicopter. Divers and non-divers alike are welcome on board, making this a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for everyone.
Join us, and discover how unforgettable encounters with sharks can inspire respect for these apex predators – and a deeper commitment to protecting the ocean they call home.
