Lubombo Mountains
All Out Africa – Slackpacking Trails in Eswatini’s Lubombo Mountains
Step into a wilderness few have explored. The Lubombo Mountains in Eswatini offer one of Southern Africa’s most remote and rugged slackpacking experiences — a true escape from the ordinary.
This multi-day slackpacking trail takes you deep into the Lubombo Conservancy, linking three reserves — Mhlumeni Community Reserve, Mlawula Nature Reserve, and Mbuluzi Game Reserve. Each offers pristine bushveld landscapes, some alive with wildlife: zebra, giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, bushbuck, monkeys, baboons, and all with prolific birdlife.
Why choose the Lubombo Mountains Slackpack?
· Expert guided hikes – trail guides share insights into history, landscapes, ecology, and Swazi culture.
· Remote wilderness – one of Southern Africa’s least explored mountain ranges.
· Slackpacking ease – hike light while your gear is transferred between select bush camps.
· Comfort in the wild – canvas tents, mattresses, hearty meals, and starlit skies.
· Wildlife & scenery – from rocky ridges and hidden valleys to sweeping lowveld and Mozambican views.
Days average 10–18km, making the trail moderately challenging — ideal for hikers who want adventure without the strain of a heavy pack. Along the way, you’ll encounter:
· Panoramic viewpoints across Eswatini and Mozambique.
· Remote bush veld with rugged trails
· Rivers, dramatic valley, secret caves, and seasonal flora.
Seamless adventure:
· 3–4 night packages available.
· All meals, guides, logistics, and camp setup included.
· Flexible vehicle pickups for shorter sections if needed.
