Ranger Hike – Wild Coast Guided Hiking Adventure
Discover the unspoiled beauty of South Africa’s Wild Coast on the unforgettable Ranger Hike, a fully guided and catered two-day hiking experience for fit and adventurous explorers. This off-the-beaten-path route immerses you in traditional African scenery, rich biodiversity, and the rhythmic solitude of the ocean.
Your journey begins at the Haven Hotel, where you’ll cross the Mbashe River by rowboat before setting off along the shoreline through the pristine Dwesa Reserve. The day unfolds with a mix of beach trekking and grassy trails that lead you 25 km to your overnight stop at the tranquil Nqabara Eco-Lodge, a hidden gem surrounded by lush coastal wilderness.
On day two, you’ll continue your adventure along one of South Africa’s wildest stretches of coastline. The 21 km trail to Kob Inn rewards you with sweeping sea views, untouched beaches, and grassy headlands that feel completely removed from modern life. A single river crossing at the Shixini mouth adds to the sense of exploration before you reach Kob Inn, where comfort and coastal charm await after your rewarding trek.
The Ranger Hike is fully guided and catered, ensuring you’re well supported every step of the way. Hikers carry their own bags, fostering a true sense of self-reliance and adventure. Return shuttles are arranged from Kob Inn back to Haven Hotel for a seamless end to the journey.
This is more than a hike—it’s an authentic Wild Coast experience that connects you to the land, the sea, and the soul of rural South Africa.
