Guided Hiking on the Wild Coast of South Africa.
The Wild Coast is a jewel of a hiking destination and your feet are the best way to get to the most beautiful places considering that the road network is still very undeveloped. The hiking is as laid-back as the place, with stretches of gentle beach walking alternating with slightly more strenuous detours inland, across rolling grassy hills, and through forest, thickets singing with birds and chattering with monkeys. Guides facilitate encounters with locals who live along the route and who still retain their traditions and many of the customs of their cultural group.
Every kilometer brings a new scene that rivals the beauty of the last. Turquoise estuaries reach lazily to the warm sea while just around the next corner an energetic tumble of water drops into the ocean from a clifftop. A guided hike means the only thing you need to concern yourself with is which of the many stunning swimming places you should leap into.
Guided walks of varying length are offered, but the Wild Coast is well known for its multi-day hikes of up to a week-long with overnight stops at charming, mostly family-run, coastal resorts.
