St Lucia town is a great little gem on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.  To me it always feel like I am on an island in the Indian ocean when I visit the town.  St Lucia has an awesome list of outdoor adventure activities to choose from.

Adventures take place in the ocean, estuary and coastal forest all minutes from the town centre.  The town of St Lucia is at the mouth of the St Lucia Estuary, part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.

St Lucia wetland park includes South Africa‚Äôs largest wetland system and awesome coastal dunes, the home of a great variety of wildlife.  Regarding scuba diving here, you will find some of the most southerly coral reefs in the world.  Other activities including wildlife are horse safaris, turtle tours, walking safaris and the famous hippo boat tours.

The estuary is an awesome place to go paddling to check out the animals and birds, snorkel in the crystal clear rock pools, take a guided walk on the beach to watch nesting turtles at night, or to go on a long hike or horse ride through the game-filled grasslands or deep sea fishing.

All in all St Lucia is a great destination for outdoor adventure activities with a real Africa feel to them.
