Our Swift water Rescue course is aimed at the recreational river users. Its focus lies with equipping you to help your team mates in an emergency situation and not to train you as a river guide. This course helps you to develop skills and knowledge to identify and prevent hazards on the river. As always it’s your own safety first and we will teach you how to look after yourself so that you are available to take charge and be the leader to help others if necessary.
Our Swift water Rescue Courses are available in the following specialties: Recreational – kayaks and crocs; Adventure Racing and finally Rescue Professional. All the courses take place on the Vaal River outside Parys in the Free State (only 70km away from Johannesburg), but we are available to organize a course on any other river in Southern Africa.
Our instructors are registered with the APA and the Resuscitation Council of South Africa and have many, many years experience on rivers and in rescue situations. The course takes place over the weekend, starting at 8am on the Saturday and ending in the late afternoon on the Sunday. Included is a camping spot with hot showers, electricity and a river view. We can accommodate a maximum of 16 students on this course. You can check availability of the courses on our website calendar: www.whitewatertraining.co.za or phone us for a booking.
