Get face-to-face with Great Whites in South Africa’s wildest bay.
Raggy Charters offers the only licensed shark cage diving experience in the Eastern Cape, taking you deep into the remote waters of Algoa Bay, where the ocean comes alive. Departing from the Nelson Mandela Bay Yacht Club in Gqeberha, this full-day marine adventure heads towards the legendary Bird Island and Black Rocks—home to thousands of Cape fur seals and a hotspot for Great White Sharks.
But this is more than just a cage dive. Along the way, you’ll cruise past humpback whales on their migratory path, witness dolphins carving through the surf, and explore islands that host the largest colonies of African penguins and Cape gannets. Once you reach shark territory, you’ll suit up and step into a three-person cage to experience the raw thrill of seeing a Great White glide by just inches from your mask.
The adventure runs from April to September, lasts around ten hours, and is open to thrill-seekers aged 12 and up. Whether you’re in the cage or watching from the viewing deck of their custom-built 11m catamaran, this is an unforgettable encounter with one of the ocean’s most powerful predators—set against the wild, unspoiled backdrop of Algoa Bay.
