Camino Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival in Hout Bay

Meet fellow pilgrims and settle into your standard guesthouse. Arrive anytime after 4pm and before dark.

Day 1: Chapman’s Peak (13km)

Today’s walk is more demanding, climbing over Chapman’s Peak via a steep and rocky path. The effort is matched by sweeping views over the Atlantic coastline and surrounding mountains. You walk to Noordhoek and stay in a rest house nearby the route.

Day 2: Noordhoek ➝ Kommetjie (9km)

This section follows a beach stretch that includes a visible shipwreck along the way. The route ends in Kommetjie, a coastal town known for horse riding and wide open sands.

Day 3: Kommetjie ➝ Scone Shack/Smitswinkel Tented Camps (22km)

The route passes through Scarborough, a conservation village with an incredible beach. Pilgrims stay at Smitswinkel Tented Camps or Scone Shack- nearby the Cape Point Gates. Scone Shack is unavailable on weekend.

Day 4: Scone Shack/Smitswinkel Tented Camps ➝ Cape Point (20km)

The route through Cape Point is an easy, safe route along tarred roads within the national park. It’s a quiet, open landscape with sea views and rich biodiversity. The area carries ancestral heritage, making it a meaningful place to walk, reflect, and let go of what you no longer need. A great way to end your Camino.
