Protea Banks Adventures

Protea Banks is one of South Africa’s most famous shark diving spots.  It is on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal an easy drive south from Durban and the closest town is Shelly Beach.  This reef has a great supply of food so sharks are found here most of the year.  At only 7,5 km from the shore it is a quick boat ride then you can enjoy another great dive in the warm Indian Ocean.  The reef is frequented by Zambezi Sharks, Ragged tooth or Raggies, Hammerheads, Tiger sharks and Black tip Reef Sharks and the odd Great White Shark.  So for all you keen scuba divers this is a must see on your dive site list.  There are a few reputable scuba dive operators based at Shelley Beach and other nearby towns.
