Various launch sites on the slopes of Lion's Head are used for paragliding depending on the wind direction at the time. In Cape Town, winds change throughout the day in direction and strength. As such, flights only take place in conditions that allow pilots to launch and land safely.

Tandem flights offer visitors an exhilarating experience with unsurpassed views. Tandem pilots are highly experienced instructors with a passion for flight. They aim to give you enjoyable flights up to 30 minutes in duration when conditions are ideal. Flights usually last 5 to 30 minutes.

Old or young, two legs or one, the paraplegic or prosthetic wearer – people of all ages and abilities can be safely taken on a tandem paragliding flight. 

As a tandem paragliding passenger, no experience is necessary. Wear warm, comfortable clothing (long pants and a jacket/windbreaker) and closed, lace-up shoes, like sports trainers. Take-offs require a few steps to launch and landings on large, grassy fields are generally soft.
