Cape Columbine Adventures, West Coast of South Africa.
This is West Coast beauty at its best. Nature’s white-washed canvas. A simple beauty of pale grey coastal flora called sandveld, sandy white coves, grey and white gulls and shades of blue, grey ocean. Cape Columbine, 263 hectares of Nature Reserve near paternoster, is a place for nature lovers and adventure sports enthusiasts and those who are happy not being surrounded by modern amenities. A rich sea life makes for excellent scuba diving for crayfish and fishing in general. In spring the sudden appearance of a myriad of colourful flowers amongst the unremarkable vegetation provides a lovely environment for hiking.
The refreshing Atlantic Ocean is safe and easy to access at Tietiesbaai in Cape Columbine which makes it a very popular, but still pristine and uncrowded, kayaking destination. The possibility of whale and dolphin sightings, as well as mongoose, African wild cat and Cape Grysbok, are a big drawcard of this unpretentious little reserve.
