Cape Columbine, 263 hectares of Nature Reserve near paternoster, is a place for nature lovers and adventure sports enthusiasts and those who are happy not being surrounded by modern amenities. A rich sea life makes for excellent scuba diving for crayfish and fishing in general. In spring the sudden appearance of a myriad of colourful flowers amongst the unremarkable vegetation provides a lovely environment for hiking.

The refreshing Atlantic Ocean is safe and easy to access at Tietiesbaai in Cape Columbine which makes it a very popular, but still pristine and uncrowded, kayaking destination. The possibility of whale and dolphin sightings, as well as mongoose, African wild cat and Cape Grysbok, are a big drawcard of this unpretentious little reserve.
