Zip Line Hartbeespoort Dam, North West.
Although the Hartbeespoort Dam was built to irrigate farms in the area, the huge expanse of water glistening in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains soon drew holidaymakers (mainly from nearby Johannesburg and Pretoria) to its shores, and the resort town of Hartbeespoort was born.
Hartbeespoort is the base for many excellent adventure operators. Ziplining is one of the most popular activities available and both zipline offerings showcase the area in different ways. Ama Zwing Zwing zipline course flies you over bushveld in the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains. Their platforms are built to maximize your view of the area. Magaliesberg Canopy Tours course has been constructed deep in the ancient (2500-million years old) Magaliesberg Mountains. The rugged terrain of cliff-sided ravines and interesting rock formations, as well as beautiful riverine forest vegetation, provides the perfect zip line playground.
