Field Guide Training Course

EcoTraining offers fully accredited training for those in pursuit of a professional field guide qualification as well as nature courses for those who wish to increase their personal awareness and knowledge of the bush.

Accredited Courses:

Professional Field Guide (1 year)
Participants can graduate with the following qualifications:
1. FGASA Field Guide Level 1 (theory and practical)
2. FGASA Trails Guide Back Up (theory and practical)
3. Firearm Proficiency Certificate (with a SASSETA accredited provider)
4. Advanced Rifle Handling (FGASA accreditation)
5. Animal Tracks and Tracking (FGASA accreditation)
6. Basic Birding
7. Advanced Birding (FGASA accreditation optional)
8. Wilderness Medicine: Level 1 & 2 (SMART – registered & FGASA endorsed provider)
9. Navigation and Orientation
10. Lodge Placement Programme

Vehicle Nature Guide Level 2 – Botswana (28 days): The Level 2 Vehicle Nature Guide is the Botswana equivalent of the southern African FGASA Field Guide Level 1 course.  EcoTraining Botswana is accredited with the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) to train and assess learners in Botswana against various FGASA qualifications as well as programmes aligned to the recently launched National Guiding Qualification system under BQA in Botswana.
