Wild Coast Walks - Slackpacking

We organise slackpacking along the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape.

Walk between a chain of connected family run hotels and eco-friendly guest lodges from Mbashe River (Haven Hotel) in the north to Kwelera River (Areena Resort) in the south, an unbroken stretch of golden beaches and wild untamed Transkei scenery.

The full trail is approximately 120 km in length but different hiking packages have been developed to need and hiking ability.  You choose the start point and the duration of your walk (usually from 3 to 5 days) and we arrange the rest.  Travel light with a local guide while your bags get transported from place to place and spend your nights at restful stopovers with all meals provided.

In addition to the standard 5 night trails between Kob Inn and Morgan Bay (Meander Trail) and between Wavecrest and Cintsa (Sunshine Trail) we also run a number of shorter trails which can be combined with others if necessary.

MINI BREAK: Aimed at busy, city-stressed people who just want to get away for a few days R&R on the Wild Coast.  Easy walking along empty beaches and a couple of nights of hotel pampering.

ADVENTURE: Combines river based activities and game viewing with hiking on a walk between Morgan Bay to Cintsa.

RANGER: A 2 day walk through the remote Dwesa Nature Reserve from Mbashe to Kob Inn.  Encounter only wild tracks and solitary fisherman on this journey of exploration.

Remember, you have 2 choices to get to the Wild Coast - self drive to the start hotel and leave your car there or fly into East London and get a shuttle from the airport and back again after your hike.

Whichever way you get there,  don’t miss out on an opportunity to hike the beautiful and peaceful Wild coast.
