The Perlemoen Trail - Slackpacking (hiking).

The Perlemoen Green Flag slackpacking trail, centred around South Africa’s famous Great White shark cage diving and whale watching capital of Gansbaai, consists of 1 to 5 days hiking (with either catered or self-catering).

The Perlemoen trail provides insights into the area – famous for its shipwrecks and infamous for its Perlemoen (abalone) poaching! This is a trail for Fynbos lovers, cultural enthusiasts and whale watchers with wide intimate coves for swimming, open beaches and sea cliffs with pounding waves and limestone caves. Sleep in comfort at B&B’s, eat out at local pubs/restaurants and walk at ease.

The three best sections along this beautiful coastline have been selected:
1. Shipwreck Section
