Shayamanzi Houseboat Charters on Lake Jozini in KwaZulu-Natal.

When you are ready to break free, feel the breeze against your skin, and the sun smiling down on you, it is time for an unforgettable Shayamanzi Cruise.

Shayamanzi, captained by an experienced, qualified skipper and his crew, cruises across 16 000 ha of open, inland water and moors in a different bay each evening. The houseboat has three, skippered tender boats, for game and bird viewing, and fishing. Lake Jozini, built-in 1973 on the western side of the Lebombo Mountains, is home to Shayamanzi, the ferocious tiger fish, twenty-six other fish species, over five hundred bird species, and, of course, all the wildlife that our guests enjoy watching from up close. The elephant herds are of particular interest, offer endless entertainment, and are a unique privilege to experience.

Shayamanzi, built-in 2007, accommodates up to twenty guests, in ten en-suite, air-conditioned cabins. The deluxe cabins offer glass doors to capture the majesty of the surroundings. The entertainment area and accommodation are spread over three levels of stylish space, with the aft jacuzzi deck being one of the favorite spaces.

Our annual tiger-fishing competition for dads, lads, and daughters is not to be missed. The fishing is particularly good this year, and while we catch all year round, we have great expectations for the new season in August. We have had the pleasure of hosting many wonderful family and corporate celebrations — our milestone birthday celebrations are legendary.

Shayamanzi is moored at Jozini Tiger Lodge and guests board at 2 pm, after a Pool Terrace lunch at the lodge. All vehicles are parked safely on the lodge grounds. Cruises are from 2–5 nights, disembarking on the final morning at 10 am.

We look forward to welcoming you on board soon!
