If you would love to take safari guests from all over the world on walking and game drive safaris into Africa’s wild places, find wildlife, teach them about the animals and ecosystems, then EcoTraining’s courses are for you.
The One Year Professional Field Guide course consists of 4 to 5 months of theoretical and practical training with our highly qualified instructors. Then 5 to 6 months will be at a lodge to work with experienced guides and lodge managers, developing your newly acquired skills.
On all courses you will learn about geology, ecology, the food web, navigation and orientation, animal tracking, bush survival skills, bird identification, animal behaviour, reptiles, trees, astronomy, guiding skills, sensitive game viewing and much more.
Courses are conducted from unfenced tented camps in South Africa, including the Kruger Park, Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe. All teem with the big five, antelope and a huge diversity of birds.
