Drakensberg Vertical Rush offers via ferrata climbing in Champagne Valley, Drakensberg.

Enjoy breathtaking adventures on the cliffs. Adventures include abseiling, a king swing, a slack line and via ferrata.

Via Ferrata is a fast-growing sport and form of family recreation. It is a secured climbing path, which has been fitted with safety lines, ladders and brackets, to make difficult routes accessible to non-climbers. The ‘iron’ that is secured to the rock provides extra foot- and handholds, and you can clip yourself to the cable for ‘self-protection’. This via Ferrata is suitable for the general public, who have little or no previous rock-climbing experience. This is a must-do for any person who enjoys hiking and nature. The trail winds through indigenous South Facing Drakensberg flora. Moderate fitness and mobility are required, as you will traverse 300 m of cliff-face. This is a combination of basic rock climbing and hiking, in an unspoilt indigenous forest. You will be fitted into a harness and helmet, and then trained how to clip into the system.
