Cederberg Astronomical Observatory - Stargazing organization in the Cederberg near Cape Town.
High in the Cederberg Mountains lies the Cederberg Astronomical Observatory. It is a privately owned and non-profit organization. On most Saturday evenings, the observatory opens its doors to members of the public to come and enjoy the splendors of the night sky.
A slideshow is followed by viewing through a telescope or two. What is viewed will depend on what is visible in the night sky at that time of year, as well as the phase of the moon and prevailing weather conditions. Entrance is free but there is an expectation that a donation is deposited into the donations box. The observatory is not staffed on full moon weekends.
