Come with time to spare because you are going to find it difficult to leave. All Out Adventures is centrally located to all the accommodation venues in the Northern Drakensberg, and offers a range of activities for families, corporates, school groups and special occasions.
The All Out Adventure Centre is situated in park like surroundings in a Pine Forest which provides lovely shade and protection from the elements on windy days. The coffee shop veranda overlooks the activities and provides a wonderful place for the less adventurous members of the family to enjoy a giant cappuccino and a piece of chocolate cake.
Adrenalin junkies are well catered for with the King Swing and Zip Line – both accessed by a 25 meter spiral staircase build around a tree. The King Swing is a terrifying freefall swing from a suspension bridge built high in the tree tops. The Zip Line is a 2 stage foofie slide with a guide operated braking system which makes for a fast ride and a smooth landing. All Out Adventures is also home to SA’s only permanent Circus Trapeze. Budding acrobats can learn the basics of a knee hang and a backflip dismount into the net, under the careful supervision of our trapeze instructors. Participants are in safety harnesses for the duration of all these activities, making this a great space for people to confront their fear of heights in a controlled environment.
Those looking for a more sustained adrenalin fix will enjoy the Extreme Cable Tour – this is a series of 6 Zip Lines that start from a platform built into the side of the hill, a 10 minute walk from the reception. The tour takes 45 minutes to an hour and a half and includes some slides that are in excess of 230 meters. A guide operated braking system means a fast ride between platforms as there is no need to slow yourself down with a glove on the cable. It’s a real scream!
Adventure seekers who are happier with their feet on the ground are also catered for with Quad Tours and Paintball. The Quad Tour is a 15km Adventure Trail which follows purpose built tracks in and out of the Montusi Gorge, through beautiful scenery and over some challenging terrain. This activity is suitable for first time riders as all participants receive a thorough briefing before the tour, and ample opportunity to practice on the test track. In fact all riders must complete a safety test before starting on the ride to minimise the risk of accidents.
Paintball takes place in a forested arena, with plenty of natural and man mad barriers. 200 balls and the size of the arena makes for an action packed game – no room for camping out until the opponents paint is all used up. Overalls and masks are provided. For those who aren’t partial to pain, the Paintball Target Shooting range offers a great alternative. Here participants get 100 solid rounds to fire at targets that fall down when they are hit.
Included in every ticket purchase is access to the Kid’s Zone – a free play area featuring the Ninja Warrior Junior Obstacle Course, duelling Sit & Zips, the T-Bar Challenge, trampolines and swings. Like we said at the beginning – its going to be difficult to leave!
