• The first cable car was built in 1929 and was used to transport people up and down the mountain. In 1997, the system was revamped to include a rotating floor, for an even more exhilarating experience. Depending on the weather, visitors can enjoy trips up and down the mountain. If rain or mist comes down, the cable car closes so always make sure to plan your day to factor in bad weather and leave enough time to hike down if you have to.
• Abseil Table Mountain offers a fun and thrilling way to experience Table Mountain. After a rigorous hike to get the abseiling jump base, you will be briefed on safety procedures and strapped into your harness and hard hat. You will then make your way to the edge of the cliff, and after getting into position, you will make your way down using your ropes. This is one of the most thrilling experiences imaginable, and you will want to go again and again!
• For those with climbing experience, rock climbing is another must-try – put your skills and power to the test as you tackle some of the varied climbs on offer with the help of experienced guides.
