Foil surfing, also known as wing surfing is now in South Africa and is available in Durban and Cape Town. The first thing most people want to know is, “Is foil surfing harder than surfing?” Foil surfing is more challenging, and it has a totally different feel to traditional surfing, but with expert instruction from our foil surfing operators who have developed extremely effective teaching methods, you’ll quickly learn to master this faster, lighter water sport.

Foil surfing is an evolution in motion; more efficient, more maneuverable, more exciting. The foiling gear (a hydrofoil fin with wings) lifts you out of the water and reduces drag which helps to maintain speeds with much less wave movement. This means you can surf in the smallest breaks and head away from the crowds to places that can’t be surfed in the traditional way. More scope means more fun!
