The Luvuvhu Trail allows you to experience the real bushveld. This 4x4 trail takes you through Letaba Ranch and Makuya Reserve, which form a part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The trail will have you camping along rivers, exposed to the elements, so be sure to come prepared. Our guides provide insight into the region unlike any others, allowing a unique perspective not-soon forgotten. The Luvuvhu Trail will challenge the adrenaline seekers, entrance the game-viewers, and capture the imagination of anyone who just wants to witness nature.
The trail is a guided trail; departs from Phalaborwa and ends at the Main Gate of Makuya Park.
The terrain covered is river crossings, sandy river crossings rocky beds & loose stones, a lot of inclines and declines. Total distance is 400km.
Vehicles must be equipped with low range transmission and have good ground clearance; 4x4 “soft roaders” or vehicles with low profile tyres are not suitable. Off-road caravans are not allowed, off-road trailers are fine.
A minimum of 3 vehicles or the cost paid for 3 vehicles is required to confirm a departure date. Maximum vehicle count is 6 vehicles.
Confirmation of departure for a preferred date is also subject to guide availability. Participants are required to be fully self-sufficient, e.g. appropriate 4x4 vehicle, camping gear, fuel, water, firewood, food, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery etc. Regrettably, when all places on a trail are not booked by a single group, children under the age of 12 may not participate, unless other participants agree to it.
Trail price for 2019 is R 8350 per vehicle.
