The Wildehondekloof Private Game Reserve 3-day Mountain Tour takes place in the Klein Karoo. E Bikes and Gravel bikes are welcome as the routes are not technical. You will cycle mainly gravel roads and well-maintained jeep tracks.
Day 1 you will have a choice of a 70km route from Wildehondekloof to the top of the Swartberg pass or just to cycle on Wildehondekloof for 40km.
The Swartberg pass between Oudtshoorn and Prins Albert is an historic pass that has been built by prisoners of war during the 2nd world war. The elevation on the 70km trip is 1630 m. But there is a 2nd option those that would rather just enjoy the views of the mountain and cycle 40km at the foot of the mountain in Wildehondekloof with an elevation of only 600m. Wildehondekloof is a Private Game Reserve with various antelopes. The lodge has only 9 rooms overlooking a river with the resident Nyalas frequently grazing on the lawn. You will see lots of Game while you cycle inside Wildehondekloof.
Afterwards you can swim in the 12 meter swimming pool in front of your room. The rooms are spacious with a king size or 2 x double beds.
The 2nd day you will cycle 60km with an elevation of 500 meter from Wildehondekloof to De Zeekoe where you will stay overnight on the beautiful working Guest farm situated on the banks of the Olifants river. De Zeekoe has a Restaurant and Beauty Salon and you can enjoy a massage after your 2nd day of cycling. The 3rd day you will cycle back 45km with an elevation of 600 meter to Wildehondekloof Game Reserve via a different route.
