Power Boating in Knysna - RIB Trips.
One of the most famous landmarks on the Garden Route is the Knysna Heads; two towering rock sentries that guard the only entrance that the Knysna Estuary has to the open ocean. This channel is feared by inexperienced sailors because at certain times the rips, tides and waves can make it extremely dangerous. A common caution is “If the heads are foamy, you know it’s kicking. Take care!” A high-speed inflatable boat (RIB) with an experienced skipper makes it possible to have a safe and exhilarating boat ride through the spectacularly beautiful heads.
There are different itineraries to choose from. For those who are drawn to an experience that activates their adrenalin, choose the super-fast tour that’s all about feeling the speed and power of your RIB. In fact you’ll probably still have a little shake in your hand when you lift that beer to your lips at the waterfront afterwards.
The gentler option still enjoys the speed and power of the boat and the exciting exit through the narrow channel between the Heads but then takes time to follow the wild and rugged coast line, with forays into marine caves and plenty of opportunity for whales and dolphin sightings which add even more magic to this memorable trip.
