Slackpacking on the Fynbos Trail in the Overberg is simply the best of both worlds. This area is the heart of the Cape Floral Region, famous for its pristine indigenous vegetation with its great hiking routes as well as superb accommodation and excellent cuisine.

The Fynbos Trail is just a two hours drive from Cape Town and close to Hermanus. It is a three day meander covering 26 kilometers of hidden pockets of indigenous forests, tumbling waterfalls and exquisite fynbos that is the home to many mammals and teaming with birdlife. 

Your expert guide will lead you on a voyage of discovery that will leave you with a great sense of appreciation for the fascinating ecology of proteas, ericas and reeds that make up the unique ecosystem of Fynbos.

Every day offers hikes through rolling hills with views of Walker Bay and swimming opportunities in dams and pools. Along the way you will visit some fascinating environmental and social projects and each day ends with the wonderful hospitality and fine meals of the Bodhi Khaya and Witkrans or Fynbos retreats. A self catering option is also available.

With luggage transfers, three meals supplied every day and complimentary wine tasting; it is hard to imagine a more enjoyable hike.
