Whatever the season, a ride through the vineyards gives you a sense of the love that the farmers have for this land. Winter is a time of quiet beauty. The vines are dormant, storing nutrients for the coming year’s growth. The crisp mornings and warm days of spring give rise to early growth. Later, vine set fruit for the coming harvest. The small grapes ultimately mature into ripe fruit in the late summer. 

As the winemaker decides that the grapes are ready to be picked, the vineyards become a beehive of activity. Harvest begins before dawn and often continues late into the evening. Late summer brings a softer light and the leaves slowly turn to yellow and soon the leaves fall, the days shorten and winter returns.
