Get ready for an Adventure, Canyoning or also known as ‘Kloofing’ in Mpumalanga. An adrenaline adventure like no other…

What is Canyoning? It’s an active fun adrenalin infused (little scary) mix of hiking in the kloof, jumping into beautiful pools, swimming across pools, scrambling over rocks, climbing and abseiling down massive waterfalls, screaming ‘yeee-ha’ as land into a rock pool.

One of the most popular canyoning activities is ‘Tubing’. You will be provided with an inflatable 'tube' – The guides will take you through the canyon, showing you how to tackle the rapids, they are trained to get you down the canyon safely and are very knowledgeable with lots of interesting facts off the Mpumalanga Canyons.

Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit, towel, backpack, hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and clothes, and a water bottle. And don’t forget warm and dry clothing for afterwards. The canyons are often shaded and some rivers in parts of South Africa are dependent on winter rainfall, the water can get very chilly. Activity operators will provide you with a wetsuit. Some may provide appropriate footwear.

Before you book make sure what the minimum age limit is. For safety reasons, not all canyoning trips are child-friendly.
