List of Activities in Lesotho
Lesotho Info
Lesotho offers hiking, horse riding and mountain biking, rewarding you with personal challenge, camaraderie and a rich insight into the local traditions of the Basotho people. Pony trekking is one of the country’s most exciting adventures, and the Basotho pony is well known for its easy temperament and reliability. Go mountain biking or hiking through sparkling clear rivers, streams and waterfalls, magnificent mountain views and unspoilt countryside.
Many of the breathtaking destinations have become accessible by 4x4s, motorbikes and quads. Tracks such as God Help Me Pass (Molimo Nthuse), Impossible Pass, and the Devil’s Steps are now available for off-the-beaten-track enthusiasts. The Sehlabathebe National Park proudly displays its natural sandstone sculptures. The world-renowned Roof of Africa Rally attracts some of the best in off-road racing.
Whether you want to climb or abseil the lofty mountains and waterfalls,
you’ve come to the right country. For the more daring, there is
204 m Guinness World Record commercial abseil at the Maletsunyane Falls.
Rumble along Lesotho’s rugged routes travelled each day by Basotho,
yet seldom explored by visitors. Respect for the Basotho and this land
is handsomely rewarded with hospitality from the local people and maybe
a minstrel’s welcome on a homemade guitar.
