Thunder City

We operate the world’s only twin-engined two-seater supersonic interceptor, the English Electric Lightning. The Lightning is capable of a speed of Mach 2.2 (1 500 mph), and an initial climb rate of 50 000 ft/min.
The British Aerospace Buccaneers are only flown from Thunder City, are powered by two Rolls Royce Spey non-afterburning bypass turbofans, and perform just below the speed of sound at zero altitude.
Thunder City uses 4 two-seater Hawker Hunters for training, aerobatics, low flying and general flying. Powered by the Avon 122 series turbojet, this aircraft allows you to experience high ‘g’ adrenalin performance.
Training includes full briefings on cockpit management, ejection seat training, oxygen management and other pertinent information. All necessary kit and equipment supplied.
