Malealea Lodge and Pony Trek Centre

Malealea Lodge & Pony Trek Centre offers accommodation, pony treks, hiking and village stays. Lesotho adventures start at Malealea, with day outings before travelling across the country. Companions arranged for your trip, introducing you to local chiefs, locating night camping sites, and ensuring your safety.

Tailor-made outings range from one hour to six days or longer, about seven hours a day. No riding experience necessary. Huts and horses hired from Basotho people in remote areas, are very basic and equipped with gas cooker, cooking and eating utensils, mattresses on the floor.

Traverse mountain passes and some of Lesotho’s highest waterfalls, explore San paintings and experience ‘Basotho culture’. Basotho guides and a packhorse accompany the treks.
