KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board

Twenty km north of Durban you will find the only organisation of its kind in the world. We offer the visitor a unique insight into the daily operations of its staff in keeping beach-users safe from shark attacks.

An hour-long programme consisting of a multiscreen audio-visual presentation and shark dissection with lecture is presented on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 am and 2 pm. The display hall is filled with replica casts of sharks, dolphins and rays.

An early morning trip on the tour boat to view the meshing crews checking the nets for sharks off Durban allows one to view any dolphin and other marine animals in the area.
