Casea Charters

Casea Charters is a family-run deep-sea fishing charter operating from Umhlanga, just 15 minutes north of Durban. A unique feature of our charters is the excitement of getting out to the fishing grounds. Our boats launch and return to the shore through the waves, which, for those who haven’t experienced this before, is often the highlight of their trip.

We pride ourselves on our high standard of professional service and aim to offer every client a memorable fishing experience.

Everyone from eager beginners to experienced anglers, including ladies and children from five years old, are welcome on our trips. We take a maximum five anglers per boat. Our boats are clean, well-maintained 19 ft Ace Craft Monohulls, each powered by 2x90 HP Yamaha Outboard Engines. The boats are fitted with GPS and Fish finders and top- quality fishing equipment is supplied. Trips range in length from two to seven hours and there is the option of joining a group or private charter.

During the summer months we have a wide variety of game fish in our waters. The most abundant species are King mackerel (Cuda), Queen mackerel (Natal snoek), dorado (Dolphin fish), King fish, Queen Fish, Sail fish, marlin and tuna. In the winter months we still catch tuna and Queen mackerel but the main target is garrick (leervis). All year round we have good catches of reef fish like Rock cod, salmon and reds (slingers and soldiers).

Whales, dolphins, turtles and marine birds are often sighted on our trips making it a worthwhile experience for the whole family.

Licensed annually by the South African Maritime Safety Association and affiliated to Umhlanga Tourism, Durban Africa and KZN Tourism.
