With some of the most perfect waves on the planet, J-Bay, as this surfers’ paradise is locally known, is all about sea, sun, sand and surf.

You can rent a board, buy a board, learn to surf or, if you’re just into the surf culture and don’t actually want to surf (what, surely not) you can just hang out on the beach and check out the taut bronzed surfers.

Or you could go deep sea fishing or try kite surfing, or sandboarding. But possibly the best way to appreciate the beach is to ride a horse along the edge of the ocean. It’s one of those things you have to do before you die so put it on your bucket list.
