Bloemfontein Adventures

This small city in the middle of South Africa is not the first place to come to mind when thinking of adventure holidays, but with all that open space it’s a great sky sports destination.

If you fancy something pretty mellow you can choose between a scenic flip and a gentle, romantic hot-air balloon flight. If you want to get a little more hands on, why not try gliding or paragliding, or – for a real adrenaline high – skydiving.

For those who prefer keeping their feet on the ground, there are loads of other options. You could visit one of a number of museums, go bird watching or hiking in the Naval Hill Nature Reserve in the middle of the city, or try your hand at archery. Weird as it sounds, you could even learn to scuba dive in Bloemfontein.

Maybe it’s not so weird, considering there is a place called Naval Hill, even though it’s hundreds of kilometres inland.
