Slot Canyoning

Slot Canyoning is the adventure activity of moving through a narrow canyon. A slot canyon must be significantly deeper than it is wide. Some slot canyons can measure less than one metre across at the top but drop more than 30 m.

Slot canyons are mostly formed in sandstone and limestone rock, but granite and basalt canyons are also found. Slot Canyoning is a fairly new outdoor adventure activity in South Africa and only a few adventure operators in the country offer it as an activity already.
