Orange River Wilderness Rafting Expedition

This multi-day, wilderness rafting expedition is a life-changing journey on the Orange River through the spectacular Northern Cape desert, perfect for those looking for something unique and authentic. This 6 day and 5 night adventure starts and ends in Onseepkans.

Day 1:
Meet your guides at Red Rock River Camp on the banks of the Orange River. Enjoy a tasty meal under the stars before settling in for the night, camping or staying in a guesthouse on a nearby farm.

Day 2, 3, 4:
Pack your bags in the morning and, following a thorough safety briefing, start paddling. The first day offers flowing channels and gentle rapids. Your guides will pick a lunch stop and prepare a great midday meal. Swim, enjoy a spot of fishing or just relax. 1-2 hours of paddling in the afternoon will bring you to your camping spot for the night. Each day follows this pattern and along the way you will experience exciting rapids, breathtaking scenery (including the Ritchie Falls), incredible desert starscapes and the simple pleasure of really getting away from it all.

Day 5:
A relaxed paddle to the end point. You will be transported back to base camp for your last night with us.

Day 6:
Depart at your leisure after a light breakfast.

The trip is run as a self-supporting expedition – the guides carry everything and set up camp at a new location each night. All meals are included.

We offer a standard trip where you provide your own camping gear, and an upgrade option, with all gear and porter-boaters included. Longer and shorter trips are available by arrangement.
