Ocean Floor Walking

The Avis Snorkel Experience

Snorkelling is thrilling underwater activity that reveals all that lies hidden beneath the ocean's surface. See myriads of silvery fish flash mere millimetres from your face as you float lazily around the snorkel lagoon. Take a dive through the Phantom Ship and spot the long-lost treasures from the cargo shipwreck, including a Willy’s Jeep that is believed to date back to World War II. Keep an eye open for the sharks that inhabit these waters!

To partake of this activity you simply need your swimwear and a towel. A buoyancy vest, mask and snorkel will be provided. It is open Wednesday to Sunday out of season and daily in season. Snorkelling sessions are conducted every hour, on the hour.

The Xpanda Shark Dive

Shark cage diving has gained rapid popularity in recent years with people facing their fears of the ocean’s deadly predators. With nothing more than the Xpanda cage between you and the fearsome Ragged Tooth shark, you can test your courage with this close encounter. It also provides you with opportunity of seeing Brindle bass at close range.

This activity is available Wednesday to Sunday out of season and daily in season, at the following times: 10:30 – 11:30am, 1:00 – 2:00pm and 4:00 – 5:00pm.

The Oxygen Oceanwalker Experience

uShaka Marine World in the only place in South Africa where you can walk among the beautiful creatures of the ocean using an innovative device, such as the Oxygen Oceanwalker. The Open Ocean Tank has magnificent marine life that includes rays, sand sharks, tuna and pompano. You don't even require a diving qualification to enjoy a walk inside uShaka’s largest exhibit.

Guests 12 years and older may partake of this activity. It is available from Wednesday to Sunday throughout the year, at the following times: 11:45am – 12:45pm, 2:00 – 3:00pm and 3:00 – 4:00pm. There is a change-room and locker facilities available on site.
