Although a relatively small country, South Africa has a variety of geographical features including deserts, forests, mountains, plains, oceans, lakes and rivers. 

In 2006 the first Dirty Boots guide was printed and 12 years later it continues to fly off the shelf. It features the best adventure operators and includes over 100 different outdoor activities in XXX listings. This printed guidebook is updated annually to give you correct and accurate information about adventure activities and holidays in South Africa.

We list the most reliable adventure operators throughout 12 regions. On our website, you can search for activities by town, region or geographical feature. We also include more specific categories such as multi-day adventuresoutdoor education centresskills training programmes and teambuilding offerings.

If your preference is for ocean-based activities, you'll appreciate the cold Atlantic Ocean on South Africa's west coast and the warm Indian Ocean on her east coast.
